Description: Sergeant Shaw was killed in an automobile accident with a flatbed truck while responding to a call of a juvenile playing in the roadway. The flatbed truck driver drove off the side of the road, over-corrected his steering, and crashed into Sergeant Shaw's patrol car, causing both vehicles to catch fire. The truck driver escaped with minor injuries. Sergeant Shaw succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
