Description: Deputy Sandlin was killed in an automobile accident during a vehicle pursuit. The right wheels of the patrol car went slightly off the road surface, struck a large chunk of asphalt and vaulted upward in a spiral trajectory, ejecting Deputy Sandlin from the vehicle. Deputy Sandlin and his partner were transported to a local hospital where Deputy Sandlin was pronounced dead. His partner was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
