Description: Sergeants Smith and Charles Wilson were shot while investigating a suspicious vehicle in a motel parking lot. The vehicle belonged to two suspects who had murdered two men in Texas with an AK-47 rifle. Sergeant Smith and Sergeant Wilson were dispatched to investigate the suspicious vehicle. When the officers knocked on the motel door, one of the suspects came out firing with a weapon in each hand. Both officers were shot and died at the scene. One suspect was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police. Four other suspects were arrested.
