Description: Patrolman Smedick approached a man wanted for questioning. The suspect fired, striking Patrolman Smedick in the chest and head. This was the third attempt on the patrolman's life by the suspect. Patrolman Smedick's patrol unit crashed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
