Description: Night Watchman Slaughter was found shot to death between City Hall and a produce shop. Watchman Slaughter was on patrol when he interrupted a burglary in progress at a gas station and was shot at close range with a shotgun. A suspect was arrested two years later but died of a heart attack before the case went to trial.
