Description: Detective Schroeder was shot and killed while he and other officers attempted to serve a warrant on a suspect wanted for rape and aggravated assault. When Law Enforcement officers arrived at the residence, the suspect opened fire. Detective Schroeder was shot in the shoulder area not protected by his vest. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
