Description: Policeman Sigler was shot and killed while escorting a mine worker home. Tension between two groups of union mine workers had become extremely volatile, therefore Policeman Sigler agreed to escort a mineworker home to ensure his safety. Upon reaching the miner's house, shots were fired. Policeman Sigler was shot in the back and the bullet lodged in his spine, paralyzing him. Policeman Sigler died in the hospital four days later.
