Description: Lieutenant Stevens died of a massive heart attack while on patrol. Lieutenant Stevens was on the Connecticut River in a State Police boat when the boat struck an obscure pile from an old pier. Lieutenant Stevens and four other officers were thrown into the river. As the five men swam towards shore, Lieutenant Stevens? body went rigid and started to float away. He was pulled from the river but all attempts to resuscitate him failed.
