Description: Officer Skelton and Sheriff Brit Brown were called to a residence regarding a domestic dispute where the husband had threatened to kill his wife. When the lawmen arrived at the scene, the suspect opened fire, shooting Officer Skelton in the hand and neck. Officer Skelton died at the scene. Sheriff Brown was slightly wounded but survived. The suspect fled but was captured a month later.
