Description: Deputy Stuart answered a disturbance call at a residence concerning several intoxicated men who were threatening the occupants of the house. Deputy Stuart went to the front door and was shot and killed by the owner. The owner later testified that he did not realize that Deputy Stuart was a lawman and mistook him for one of the men who were harassing his family. The trial resulted in a hung jury.
