Description: Deputy Scarlett was killed in an automobile accident while on patrol on route I-75. Deputy Scarlett was responding to an automobile accident scene on I-75 when all traffic, because of the previous accident, came to an abrupt stop. Deputy Scarlett's department vehicle slammed into the back of a delivery truck that had stopped in the roadway, killing him instantly. Deputy Scarlett was pronounced dead at the scene.
