Description: Sergeant Sottile was shot during a traffic stop when one of the two occupants produced a handgun and shot him in the chest. Despite being mortally wounded, Sergeant Sottile was able to notify dispatchers that he had been shot. Sergeant Sottile was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The two suspects were apprehended the following morning.
