Description: Lieutenant Studebaker and his partner answered a burglary in progress call at Hemm Brothers Garage. As the officers approached the building, they were met by shotgun blasts. Lieutenant Studebaker was shot in the face, neck, chest, arms and legs. He medically retired 10 months later. He suffered chronic pain due to his multiple injuries and remnants of the shotgun pellets in his body that could not be removed. Lieutenant Studebaker died of heart failure and an infected leg eight years later.
