Description: Attempting other arrest (excludes burglary, robbery and drug-related arrests). Deputy Smith confronted a suspect wanted for murder, and while attempting to place the suspect under arrest, was shot and killed by the suspect. Although the suspect fled the scene, eventually he was apprehended, tried, convicted, and sentenced to life imprisonment.
