Description: Sheriff Smith responded to a medical call where a couple had been exposed to carbon monoxide poisoning. Sheriff Smith went into the residence and brought the man and woman outside to safety. Sheriff Smith inhaled very large doses of the carbon monoxide and was hospitalized. He died two days later from acute carbon monoxide poisoning.
