Description: Detective Steed was killed in an automobile crash was his patrol vehicle was struck head on by a stolen vehicle which was being pursued by other officers. Detective Steed was transported to the hospital where he died. Patrolman H. P. Bayly was injured but survived. The suspect was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and hit-and-run driving and sentenced to five years in prison.
