Description: Deputy Marshal III Stephens was shot while working undercover during a stakeout to serve a warrant to a man wanted on New Jersey charges. As Deputy Marshal Stephens was in pursuit of three suspects, an off duty police officer mistook him for a gunman and shot him. Deputy Marshal Stephens died a short while later from massive bleeding. (Friendly fire).
