Description: Officer Smith and Officer Michael King were shot and killed while attempting to take a man into custody for a mental health evaluation. Unaware that the suspect had shot and killed two citizens at a local business earlier that day, Officer Smith and Officer King arrived at the residence and were ambushed as soon as they exited their patrol vehicle. Officer Smith and Officer King were transported to a local hospital where they both were pronounced dead.
