Description: Chief Sparks and Officer Gerry Quinn were approached by two youths who were brandishing weapons and ordered them out of their car. Officer Quinn identified himself as an officer and drew his gun. The suspect ran with Officer Quinn in pursuit. Officer Quinn heard Chief Sparks calling him and returned to find the Chief with a gunshot wound which proved fatal. Both suspects were caught, convicted and jailed.
