Description: On September 20, 2009, Chief of Police Smith was escorting an intoxicated subject to the patrol car when the suspect pushed Chief Smith to the ground. Chief Smith sustained injuries to his knee and neck and required surgery. Chief Smith died on August 13, 2010 from complications stemming from the initial injury.
