Description: Officer Stephens stopped a vehicle reported as stolen. After Officer Stephens radioed the dispatcher requesting information concerning the car, the occupants opened fire. Officer Stephens was shot in the head and chest and died several hours later at the hospital. One suspect was captured and charged with murder. The second suspect was not apprehended.
