Description: Police Officer Scherlen succumbed to injuries sustained on September 8, 2015 in a vehicle crash. Officer Scherlen was responding to a call for service when he was struck head-on by an impaired driver that had crossed the center line. Officer Scherlen was transported to the hospital and released a month later. Officer Scherlen underwent multiple surgeries and died on August 4, 2016.
