Description: Senior Corrections Officer Semmon had been outside in the recreation yard at the Albert C. Wagner Correctional Facility with inmates in high humidity with the temperature in the 90s for approximately 45 minutes. Officer Semmon was returning inmates from the recreation yard to the restrictive housing unit when he begin to experience difficulty breathing and chest pains. Officer Semmon then became unresponsive and CPR was administered until EMS arrived. Officer Semmon was transported to the hospital where he later died.
