Description: Sergeant Sullivan was struck as he walked along an ice-covered road in foggy weather. Sergeant Sullivan's patrol car had skidded on a patch of ice and crashed into a ditch while en route to meet with an informant. As Sergeant Sullivan walked along the road in search of assistance, he was struck by an oncoming motorist who had also skidded on a patch of ice. The motorist transported Sergeant Sullivan to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
