Description: Deputy Sheriff Sims was shot when he answered a domestic disturbance call. Deputy Sims attempted to stop a fight between a man and his wife when the man retrieved a shotgun and fatally shot him. The suspect fled but was apprehended months later. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to death but died of tuberculosis before the scheduled execution.
