Description: Deputy Sheriff Smith was ambushed and fatally shot as he responded to a report of a house fire. The suspect intentionally set the fire to lure and shoot first responders when they arrived at the scene. A second deputy was also shot but survived. The suspect was killed in an exchange of gunfire with officers.
