Description: Police Officer Smith was shot while he and Americus Police Officer Nicholas Smarr responded to a domestic disturbance call. Officer Smith was critically shot and transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries the following day. Officer Smarr was fatally shot the day of the incident. The suspect committed suicide.
