Description: On May 25, 1911, Deputy Sheriff Solomon was shot in the jaw while off-duty while he assisted LAPD Patrolman Arthur Crusey arrest a burglary suspect. Patrolman Crusey was also shot and died of his injuries three days later (Panel 18-W: 29). On August 7, 1917, Deputy Solomon died due to swelling of the brain caused by his jaw injury.
