Description: On March 6, 1910, Reserve Police Officer Stewart collapsed at City Hall after delivering messages, on foot via the stairs, regarding a trolley strike. Due to the strike, part of his assigned duties included receiving and delivering messages regarding the strike and related disturbances to the Municipal Bureau on the second floor. Officer Stewart, who was assigned to the sixth floor, received and delivered at least five messages in 10 minutes when he collapsed. Officer Stewart was transported home and was under medical care until his death seven days later on March 13th.
