Description: Officer Strunk was off-duty when he observed a motorist driving in a dangerous, erratic manner. Officer Strunk approached the vehicle, showed his badge and identified himself as a policeman. The driver attempted to flee, with Officer Strunk holding on. The driver drove for about a half mile before losing control of the vehicle. Officer Strunk was thrown against a telephone pole and suffered massive head and chest injuries. Officer Strunk was pronounced dead at the hospital. The motorist was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
