Description: Corporal Slay was killed in an automobile crash while attempting to assist another officer. Corporal Slay and his partner were responding in their unmarked vehicle with their lights and siren activated when a pickup truck failed to yield and struck the patrol car. The patrol vehicle struck a utility pole. Corporal Slay and his partner were transported to a nearby hospital where Corporal Slay was pronounced dead. His partner survived the crash.
