Description: Deputy Shain was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a local horse thief. Deputy Shain was summoned to a local farm concerning a rash of robberies. Deputy Shain searched the local area and located a man feeding several horses in a field. After talking to the suspect, Detective Shain recognized the brand on one of the horses and attempted to place the suspect under arrest. While attempting to arrest the horse thief, the suspect shot and killed Deputy Shain.
