Description: Sergeant Stamper was shot and killed after responding to a neighborhood dispute over a dog. The suspect had shot and killed one of his neighbors before the officers arrived. When Sergeant Stamper arrived on the scene, he was shot and killed. The suspect was sentenced to life in prison for killing his neighbor and 40 years for reckless homicide in Sergeant Stamper's death.
