Description: Officer Staszak responded to a car and deer accident on US-285. As Officer Staszak stepped out of his patrol car, he was struck by a southbound vehicle. Officer Staszak was thrown about 50 feet upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene from severe head injuries. The suspect pled guilty to vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.
