Description: Lieutenant Szwajkowski was informed that a man seated in a car outside of a church had a gun. Lieutenant Szwajkowski ordered the man several times to drop the gun and get out of the car. The suspect fired, shooting Lieutenant Szwajkowski in the chest. Lieutenant Szwajkowski was able to return fire before he collapsed. Lieutenant Szwajkowski was pronounced dead at the hospital. The suspect died in an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement.
