Description: Special Agent Sherman was shot when he apprehended and searched two men who were loitering in the train yard in Topeka, Kansas. One of the men pulled a gun and shot Agent Sherman in the back, which severed his spine and punctured a lung. Agent Sherman was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries 13 days later.
