Description: Undersheriff Scudder was shot as he attempted to serve a warrant to a suspect who had assaulted his deputy the day before. Undersheriff Scudder suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at the scene. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
