Description: Sheriff Stanley attempted to serve a warrant to a suspect for assault. The suspect shot Sheriff Stanley in the face and fled the scene. The bullet entered Sheriff Stanley's right cheek, passed through his neck and lodged in his right shoulder. Sheriff Stanley succumbed to his injuries six weeks later.
