Description: Undersheriff Stretcher and five other men were responding to a report of a building fire when their patrol car, driven by Fire Chief Emil Johnson, collided with a fire truck that was also en route to the fire. The patrol car rolled several times. City Marshall Lawrence Bass was also killed in this accident. Friendly action.
