Description: Officer Smith and Detective Willie Jones recognized a vehicle used in a series of local robberies. They stopped the vehicle and were shot in an exchange of gunfire. The suspects were three convicted killers who had escaped from the Connecticut State Penitentiary. Detective Jones survived his wounds.
