Description: Night Marshal Shipley was ambushed and fatally wounded by an ex-mayor and saloon owner. Marshal Shipley was lured to the location by the suspect who fired his shotgun. As Marshal Shipley approached the suspect, the man shot him in the neck and head. Marshal Shipley died of his injuries two days later.
