Description: Constable Townsend was serving food and water to prisoners in the Weimer Jail when one of the inmates stabbed him as he opened the door to the cell. Constable Townsend died a few hours later at his parent's home while receiving medical attention. His brother, Thomas, was killed in the line of duty six months earlier.
