Description: Deputy Tyler and Deputy Alex Morris were fatally wounded as they pursued Constable C.B. Oaks for public intoxication and reckless driving. The constable led the deputies to his home where they were ambushed by seven members of the Oaks family. Deputy Tyler was shot in the left shoulder and died on the operating table. Deputy Morris was shot in the chest and face. The constable also died in the shoot-out. The seven men were arrested.
