Description: Patrol Officer Tufts suffered a heart attack after a foot pursuit of a fleeing suspect. Officer Tufts and Officer Alfred White were in pursuit of an intoxicated suspect who they were attempting to arrest for causing a public disturbance. The suspect broke free of the officers after they placed him under arrest and ran into a wooded area. The officers captured the suspect and were taking him into custody when Officer Tufts collapsed. Officer Tufts was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
