Description: Deputy Thrower was shot while serving commitment papers for a mentally deranged individual. After being shot, his kidney failed. He subsequently underwent a kidney transplant and developed pneumonia. Following the operation he died of a blood clot that traveled to his lungs. Deputy Thomas R. Lewis was shot and died at the scene of the original incident.
