Description: Police Officer Tillman was fatally shot when he and Officer William Turner responded to a disturbance call concerning a man threatening to kill a customer at a lunchroom. Officer Tillman approached the suspect while in his patrol car and Officer Turner approached from the opposite direction on foot. The suspect produced an automatic handgun and shot Officer Tillman through the vehicle window at point-blank range. Officer Tillman was struck in the left side of his chest. Officers Tillman and Turner returned fire and killed the suspect. Officer Tillman was transported to the hospital where he died.
