Description: Deputy Sheriffs Talbert and Joe McKinney were shot after they questioned a suspect regarding several pints of whiskey. As the deputies placed the suspect under arrest, a second man approached and confronted them. A scuffle broke out among the four men, and gunfire was exchanged. Deputy Talbert was shot five times and died at the doctor's office. Deputy McKinney survived his injuries. Both suspects were arrested.
