Description: Deputy Marshal Townsend was shot and killed in an ambush on the Missouri-Pacific train line in Forth Worth, TX. Special Marshals Sneed and Fulford were injured in the attack, but survived. Strikers set up a road block in Fort Worth and attacked the Marshals escorting the train when it attempted to pass. The Marshals responded with gunfire and succeeded in suppressing the strike, but lost one Marshal and two were wounded in the battle.
