Description: Officer Thomas suffered a fatal heart attack while attempting to place a suspect under arrest. Officer Thomas responded to a domestic disturbance call where a resident was in need of medical attention. When Officer Thomas arrived, he found the ex-mayor armed and in a combative state. When back-up units arrived at the residence, they found the ex-mayor handcuffed and lying on the bed. Officer Thomas was lying next to him unconscious and not breathing.
