Description: Trooper Toatley was shot and killed while conducting an undercover narcotics investigation in Northeast, Washington D.C . He and several other officers had been deputized as Federal Agents to take part in a Regional Narcotics Task Force for the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area. While waiting for the suspected drug dealer to deliver a large amount of drugs, Trooper Toatley was shot in the back of the head by the drug dealer. He died several hours later at a local hospital. The suspect was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
